Annapolis and Baltimore
Your first stop will be in Baltimore. You will be transported to a time when Baltimore residents defended their homes, businesses and land from the British once more during the War of 1812. See Federal Hill, where Baltimoreans gathered to witness the fate of their city. Cruise past Fell’s Point and Canton where swift Baltimore clipper ships were built for government sanctioned “privateers”. Go to the Francis Scott Key Buoy where he watched the “bombs bursting in air” while being held prisoner on a British ship – and penned the famous lines to the National Anthem. You will enjoy a great view of Ft McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine from the water, and enjoy a personalized tour of Baltimore’s related sites with your guide in period dress on your coach. Time allowed on your own to enjoy the Inner Harbor for lunch and shopping. You will end your day in Annapolis for a nice group dinner before checking into your Annapolis hotel. The following day prepare for “CHESAPEAKE CRAVINGS”. Enjoy a full day of iconic Chesapeake Bay culinary traditions and history to learn and consume! A colonial attired guide will lead you to the Historic Ram’s Head Tavern where you will enjoy crab soup and tales of the 300 year old brewery. After a motorcoach tour of Annapolis you will enjoy a Chesapeake inspired lunch in Annapolis before the Maryland State dessert at the Historic PACA house. Time allowed on your own in the evening for shopping and dinner on your own. Your final day you will enjoy Annapolis from the water aboard a cruise while you hear tales of the Chesapeake from a seasoned waterman and storyteller. Highlights and sites along the water include the scenic Severn River, Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Thomas Point lighthouse. You will enjoy a gourmet box lunch on board.
